Progressive Dinner with Rock Ventures
6:00 - 10:30pm
Saturday evening’s “progressive” event, planned by our friends at Rock Ventures, offers a true taste of Detroit cuisine, architecture, history, and business.
The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres in the dPOP! building basement and a presentation from Laura Grannemann, Vice President of Strategic Investments at Rock Ventures (see bio below). Laura will present on Rock Venture’s mission to increase growth, innovation and prosperity in Detroit and Cleveland, the public and private partnerships that have developed to support this mission, and how company’s strategic philanthropic priorities have evolved. The presentation will include time for Q&A.
We will then walk to the Rosetti rooftop space in the Federal Reserve Building for music, cocktails, and a strolling dinner.
Vice President of Strategic Investments
Laura joined the company in May of 2014 after graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in International Development. While her education was focused internationally on China, Burma, and Thailand, she has been able to apply much of the same economic and social development methodology to the city of Detroit.
As the Vice President of Strategic Investments, Laura focuses mostly on breaking down complex systems related to economic development and neighborhood stabilization, including Detroit’s tax foreclosure crisis, the mortgage market in the city, and building economic opportunity for all. Throughout her time with Rock Ventures, Laura has led projects that bring together the community, as well as public and private partners ¬ Rehabbed & Ready, Motor City Mapping, and the fight against tax foreclosure, to name a few.
Laura is excited to creatively and collaboratively address more of Detroit’s challenges in the future, and she is grateful for the many opportunities Rock Ventures has provided for her to do so.
